I am always looking for talented undergraduate and graduate students to join my research group. I usually have openings. Please visit my research page to learn more about the projects I am currently working on. Also read the minimum qualifications necessary for a position before contacting me. Undergraduates - Be a junior or senior (sophomores who are extremely motivated and work independently will also be considered).
- Have taken ECE 3450: Digital Electronics with me (N/A for sophomores).
- Have strong interest in research (particularly CAD/EDA/VLSI design) with a desire to go to graduate school.
- Willing to work at least 10 hrs/week during the semester and/or 40-45 hrs/week during the summer.
- Necessary skills:
- OS: Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux
- Languages: C/C++ (programming), Verilog (hardware design), Perl (scripting)
- Document typesetting: LaTeX
- Design tools: Electric, Synopsys, HSPICE
Note: Undergraduate positions are not paid (unless you demonstrate your abilities and I hire you for a summer RA). However, you can receive course credit through ECE 5991 - Independent Study. Graduates In addition to the requirements above, you must meet these additional criteria: - Willing to work 25 hrs/week during the semester and/or 50 hrs/week during the summer.
- Have taken ECE 8460 - VLSI Design.
- Funding is only available for thesis students. Minimum requirements for this is 1 conference and 1 journal publication.
Note: If you are not interested in doing a thesis, you can receive course credit through ECE 9030 - Independent Study.
